Midweek Autumn Wishlist #25

1-2-3-4-5

1. I need this scarf in my life! It's a Primarni special and I love everything from the colours to the print. The thought that scarf weather is approaching fast wouldn't be so bad if I had this to wear.

2. If you've already seen my Boots haul post you'll know that I've already got my hands on this little beauty. I've never worn a dark berry lip before because they scare me but I really liked the look of the shade Berry Much and for £4.99 you can't afford not to give it a whirl!

3. I really do love these kind of hats but I can't justify spending Topshop prices on something that, to be honest I'll only probably wear a handful of times and this is where this Primark gem comes in! A guilt free, cheap and cheerful purchase that will fill my Autumn hat needs.

4. My ballet pumps have well and truly taken a back seat at the moment in favour of loafer style shoes, they look just as good, are a bit more sturdy and can handle the rain a hell of a lot better. This Topshop pair are just what my wardrobe needs, I originally had my heart set on the bright red pair but they went out of stock quicker than I could get to my debit card however, this burgundy pair will go with everything!

5. This has turned into a very burgundy/purpley wish list! It seems like such a long time ago since I wore darker nail varnish colours and between then and now I had a little clear out to cull my ever growing nail varnish collection but it seems all I've got left is pastels and neons and if that isn't an excuse to treat yourself to a few new autumnal shades I don't know what is!

My Top Pastel Nail Picks for Spring!

We've had approximately 5 hours of glorious sunshine and I am convinced that we're in the midst of spring but after a lot more rain than sun I'm starting to think that I've been a bit too enthusiastic. I might not be able to ditch the tights just yet but I can bring a bit of Spring into my life with sorbet nails. So I've had a good rummage through my stash and have found five pastels that will be getting a lot of air time!

Nails Inc Notting Hill Carnival
Notting Hill Carnival is a really nice soft yellow which is eye catching and bright enough without being a scary eye searingly neon shade. I always find yellows are hard to apply and you need quite a few coats to get it opaque but if you get it right it looks amazing. I can see this shade adding a bit of colour to a monochrome outfit or I always love how yellow looks against grey.

Models Own Cornflower Gleam
This is a shade from the HyperGel collection so it has a high shine finish which personally I really like. Everytime I've worn this shade someone has commented on it and it is a unique lavendery blue hybrid which looks really pretty on.

Essie A Crewed Interest
I am so in love with this shade! A Crewed Interest is definitely one of my most reached for nail varnishes, it's the most beautiful nudey peach and goes with anything. It's also a really nice base for glitter topcoats and if you need to look grown up and sophisticated for any reason this is the colour you need in your life!

Nails Inc Royal Botanical Gardens
You can't let spring pass you by without getting your mint green nails on! This shade is fresh, bright and perfect for those days when the sunshine comes out, even if you've still got your jeans on this really brightens things up.

Ciate Sugar Plum
I don't think I could have thought up a more fitting name for this shade! If you're not looking to make a massive impact with your nails and just want a pretty shade then Sugar Plum is your nail varnish, it's a gorgeous pale lilac that will look even better when I've got some colour to my pasty hands!

Midweek Wish List #20

1-2-3-4-5-6

1. Queen Katy has done it again, with the help of eyelure she's bought out another collection of lashes and I think that this is her best one yet. Punk Princess are my kind of lashes, not too full on and a lot of texture, I think I'm going to need to buy a back up!

2. I'm on a bit of a skincare mission at the minute after a slight breakout so I'm trying to get my skin back on track and keep it that way. After reading so many amazing reviews on this I don't know how it couldn't be on my wish list, it seems like the product to make my bright and soft skinned dreams come true!

3. For Christmas I got the NARS Splendor in the Grass palette and one blusher shade has been getting more of a hammering than the others and that happens to be Sex Appeal, it's the most perfect peachy pink that adds a really natural healthy colour to your face and I just can't get enough of it.

4. Oh my god, how cute are these?!?!? I am officially in love with these heart print beauties and need them on my feet, that is all.

5. I've been waiting for weeks and weeks for the new Essie Spring Resort collection to hit the shops and I've heard some whispers that it will be any day now. I'd like to say that I'll only be buying a shade or two but the more I look at them the more I know they'll all be coming home with me!

6. Easter will be here in a matter of weeks which means a lot of chocolate and a long weekend but if you're struggling to wait for it to come around then get your hands on this adorable yankee candle and your house can smell of white chocolate bunnies! It's meant to smell very similar to the vanilla cupcake candle which I could smell all day long so I think I'll love this.

Valentine's Outfit Ideas

Valentine's day is looming and whether you've got a date with your man or your girls you'll need an amazing outfit to wear so I've done the hard work for you and picked out a few looks for whatever your plans are on this day of love - all you need to do is click add to basket!

Jumper - Missguided, Skirt - Missguided, Shoes - ASOS, Nail Varnish - Essie In The Cab-ana, Bracelet - ASOS, Matte Balm in Elusive- Revlon

I am a big fan of the PVC pencil skirt look at the minute but the weather is making it impossible for me to wear it like Kim Kardashian does in sunny LA so I've taken some style inspiration from our very own Lucy Meck and paired it with a fluffy jumper which looks cute and also lowers the chance of frostbite! This look is all about the skirt so the shoes and accessories are pretty low key but with a pop of colour on the nails and my favourite lip product of the moment making an appearance too!

Shirt - Topshop, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - Vivienne Westwood for Melissa, Watch - Marc Jacobs, Nail Varnish - Models Own Hedonist, Lipstick - MAC Morange

Now this is the most me outfit out of these and I think this is what I'm going to wear when Joel and I go out for our meal on Friday night. I couldn't live without my Topshop Leigh jeans, they're the most worn thing in my wardrobe (apart from my work uniform - bleurgh) They're my first port of call for a night that's not too dressy but they still look nice with a shirt tucked in and some heels. It is V day so lets throw in some hearts and neon coral to brighten it up and then some chunky arm candy to finish it off!

Dress - ASOS, Shoes - ASOS, Necklace - River Island, Nails in Rose Petal - Topshop, Lipstick in Candy Yum Yum - MAC

I'm such a sucker for stripes so I absolutely love this dress and in the name of love have picked some red and pink accessories - maybe it would be better if you were going for a posh sit down meal with the size of those heels! The dress has got quite a high neckline so I've blinged it up with a statement necklace and if that doesn't blind your date for the night then Candy Yum Yum will!

Essie Bikini So Teeny & A Crewed Interest

(They've gone up to £2.50 now, boohoo!)

Oh Fragrance Direct, how would our Essie collections grow without you?! I was lucky enough to get a couple of shades that I'd had my eye on for a while - for under a fiver you can't beat a bargain like it!

A Crewed Interest is the most beautiful peachy nude shade and Bikini So Teeny is a really unique lavender blue. They're both quite light pastels so it does take a couple of coats to get them to a strong opaque colour. They both go on nice and  glossy but Bikini so Teeny has some sparkle in it so is a bit bumpier without a top coat. Even though there is quite a lot of silver glitter running through Bikini So Teeny which is very noticeable in the bottle but not so much on the nail. Both of these shades lasted a good week on me, there was a bit  of chipping but nothing major.

Essie have done it again, brilliant formula, lasting time and shades - Keep them coming Fragrance Direct!

Monthly Favourites | November 2013

It's the most wonderful time of the year!! Happy December lovelies, we are officially on the countdown until Santa pays us a visit. I absolutely love the run up to Christmas and all the festivities that come with it so I'm extremely excitable right now and it won't be long until I've dug my Christmas jumper out. In November there were a few brand spanking new additions to my favourites and a couple of long forgotten about products that I've fallen in love with since giving them a second chance.

If doing my face was a game of football then the E.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzer Cream Duo in St Lucia (review here) would be man of the match. I have to admit that it's the bronzer side that gets most of the love from me, it's the perfect contouring product. I've never got such amazing results so easily and it's only £3.75!!!!!! Another new discovery this month is the blogger favourite NARS Sheer Glow, I was a bit worried about this because I ordered blind from ASOS when they had 20% off but thank god the colour match was perfect and I absolutely love the formula, I won't go into too much detail about how amazing this is because I've got a proper review coming up in the next week or so but I will say that this is definitely worth the hype! I'm forever missing out when Fragrance Direct restock their Essie selection but when I was checking to see if maybe they'd added a few shades I managed to get lucky and nab A Crewed Interest which was the shade I was hoping would pop up. It's the most beautiful nudey peach colour, probably more spring appropriate but a shade this lovely needs to be worn all year round! It was Joel's birthday at the beginning of the month and we had a few days off work so I took the opportunity to sort out my overflowing make up basket and rediscovered a few forgotten gems (There are probably more at the bottom, I didn't manage to get that far!) In the Summer I had a bit of a Look Beauty haul, got all excited for it to come, dedicated a blog post to it and then...nothing. I shoved all the products that I got in my basket where they sank to the bottom and out of sight out of mind! I dug out the Make Me Blush Blusher in Pinch and even with it being with all my everyday make up products it was still a good few weeks until I actually used it and I have definitely been missing out - it's a really nice subtle pink colour that perked up my whole face. Something else that got unearthed while I was having a little rummage was this RMK Cleansing Balm that I received in a Birchbox sometime this year, I think that I used it once and the smell put me off so I stored it away until this week. My beloved Liz Earle is on its last legs and I'm trying to get my skin ready for my work Christmas night out on Saturday. This literally melted every trace of make up away and my skin is looking so much brighter and hydrated. The Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer (review here) is a new addition to my daily routine, it's a creamy, crease free under eye concealer with amazing coverage. There was a little sponge that I used to apply but the whole thing seemed to explode after the twist to get product out bit stopped working properly so now the sponge isn't useable and I've been using my fingers but I still love it!

My Top Summer Nail Picks

When the sun is shining there's only a few requirements to abide by, legs out, sunglasses on, cocktail in hand and nails must be bright! Neon nails are by far my favourite, they look amazing with a tan and instantly add a little something to an otherwise plain outfit. These are the nail varnishes that have been gracing my fingers and toes recently.

Tart Deco was my first ever Essie polish and started my love affair with the brand, it's the most perfect bright coral and I can't rave about the formula enough. I received London Calling in last months Birchbox and was a little disappointed because I had my eye on the coral shade in this collection but once I got it on that was long forgotten! It looks almost pastel in the bottle but once this is on it's the most striking neon, I don't own anything else like this it really is a unique shade. Unfortunately you can't purchase this alone, it comes in a set of 4 but the other 3 shades are gorgeous as well so that's just a bonus! In The Cab-ana (Full review here) is on my nails as I type, I seem to lean towards blue shades at this time of year but this is the best one I've come across. It's the colour you'd expect the sea to be at some 5 star honeymoon resort in the Caribbean - beautiful! I had a bit of a Topshop nail splurge around this time last year and this is one that made it into my online basket but I don't think they sell it any more, although on the website at the minute there is a very similar (if not the same but renamed) shade called Carnival. This was my nail colour of choice for my holiday to Ibiza last year so it instantly puts me in a summery mood and maybe a little bit depressed that I'm not by the pool! It looks brighter in the bottle than it actually transpires on to the nail but it's still hardly what you'd call subtle! If you're looking for a nail colour that could blind someone then Big Yellow Taxi is for you, it's a bright, bright, bright sunny yellow and I would wear it a lot more often if it wasn't such a nightmare to apply, you have to be quite patient because it takes a while to make perfect but for a shade this summer bright a little patience isn't a lot to ask! I've saved the best until last - Models Own Hedonist. If I could only wear one nail varnish for the rest of my life then this would be it. It's hard to pin point the actual colour of this, it's a bit red, a bit pink, a bit orange and a bit coral but colour aside once applied this is a true neon, the brightest I own and even when I'm at the palest this highlights any hint of colour I might have, it's the perfect tan accomplice and hands down my number one summer nail pick!

Let me know your favourite summer nail varnishes, there's still room in my collection to add a few more brights!

July Glossybox 2013

Firstly I must apologise for my appalling blogging skills of late, this new job of mine is draining all my resources (time and energy!) but hopefully it'll get less of a nightmare the more we get used to all of the changes. So here I am trying to get back into the swing of things bringing you a peek inside of the July Glossybox and after last months disappointing box this is what I call a summer box! They even pulled a special edition box out of the bag which is perfect for the summery theme of the box and would make brilliant bathroom storage!

Essie Sleek Sticks in 02 Croc 'n Chic
I've seen these in different variations in Boots quite a few times and they seem to be out of stock more than they are in stock so they must be quite popular. Nail wraps are a bit too fiddly for me, I like to paint and go! I do want to give these a go even though croc effect nails really aren't my cup of tea but maybe in the winter when I prefer a more vampy nail these will come in use!

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist
I absolutely love the sound of this and I can't wait to try it out the next time I wash my hair. It's meant to give effortlessly tousled beachy waves and add texture, volume and a healthy shine. What more does a girl want from her hair at this time of year?!

Sleek Makeup Pout Paint in Minx & Mauve Over
After a bit of research on these I can see that they're our version of an OCC Lip Tar which I've wanted to try for ages but found hard to get hold of. The shades I got in my box were minx which is a peachy pink (oh Glossbox you know me so well!) and Mauve Over which is a scary vibrant purple if you mix the two together it does tone the purple down to a more manageable fushia shade. I'm yet to try these out for lasting time but I have still got a mark on my hand from swatching a good couple of hours ago even after a good scrubbing so I have high hopes!

Anatomicals Spray Misty For Me Facial Spritz
What a handy little spray for these hot days and nights, containing lavender to calm and peppermint to refresh. It's suitable for all skin types and rehydrates and calms, I've been using this after I take my makeup off at night and before I put it on in the morning, you do need to leave it a good minute or two to dry before you can put anything else on your face though.

Coola Organic Suncare Collection Mineral Face SPF 20
Well, what doesn't this do?! Not only is it sun protection it also soothes, tones and minimizes pores while also reducing inflammation and balancing moisture and fighting signs of ageing! No wonder it comes in at £29.99 for a full size!

Glossybox have definitely got it right this month with their summer themed box lets just hope the weather stays long enough for me to try out my new goodies while it actually feels summery!

Monthly Favourites | June 2013

I didn't even realise that the end of June was looming until I saw a few monthly favourites popping up! This month has gone by in such a blur, new house, new job and a couple of messy nights in between is enough to frazzle any girls brain! The end of June also means that we're on the downwards slope towards Christmas, I need a few more sunny months before that thought starts to be less depressing though.

I think that I've spent the last 90% of this month doused in Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess (full review here) I absolutely love it, it's a holiday in a bottle and if you love a coconutty scent like me then this is perfect for you. It's limited edition though so you either have to stock up or be sparing! I really like bright blue nails when the sun is shining and Essie in the Cab-ana (full review here) is the perfect cloudless sky, swimming pool coloured blue. Good Application and long lasting, what more can a girl ask for?! I love lip products and I would go as far as saying that I'm a lipstick hoarder, out of my stash these two have been the stars of July. MAC Chatterbox (full review here) is an amplified finish in a really nice muted rosey pink colour, definitely worth looking into if you're after something that stands out but isn't too bright. MAC Flamingo (full review here) is from the All About Orange collection that did my bank account a lot of damage this June! At first I was a little bit disappointed that the colour pay off was quite weak but I've got over that hurdle now! It's just a really nice subtle pinky coral and the application is fail proof, you could do it with your eyes closed and it would still look great. I've been on a bit of a blusher binge recently and I've wanted Illamasqua Rude for ages now but it always seems to be out of stock on the website, I finally managed to get my hands on it and now I realise why it's always out of stock! It's a cream blush in a peachy colour and it has such a radiant finish, this really is the perfect summery cheek colour. I've really neglected my poor skin recently and the only thing that I've applied daily is this NUXE Huile Prodigieuse OR Dry Oil from the June Glossybox it has a golden shimmer running through it which is perfect for this time of year when we're all a little bit bronzed (real or from a bottle!) it can be used for your body, face and hair but I've only used it on my face because it's only a small sample, I think that the 50ml bottle comes as a spray which would be a lot easier to use. I'm definitely going to have to invest in a full size of this because I am nowhere near ready to part with my baby soft skin just yet!

Essie In The Cab-Ana

I was watching a haul that Lily Pebbles had put up on YouTube recently but it wasn't her purchases that I was lusting after, it was her nails! After a bit of hunting I found out what it was and quicker than you can say 'In the Cab-ana' my bank account was a bit lighter and this was mine oh mine!

It is the most perfect vibrant summer blue, a real stand out colour that's sure to get you a lot of compliments. The formula is slightly different to the Essie varnishes I already own as is the brush and after reading a few reviews I think this is the old formula. I found it to be a bit thicker than what I'm used too with Essie but a couple of coats and a topcoat later you've got some near perfect nails! The brush is a lot thinner as well which some people might prefer but it really doesn't make a difference to me. I wore this for a good 4-5 days before I got some wear on the tips of my nails. I don't think that this is going to make it into the diffusion line so if you need it in your life Boots isn't the place to look! I got mine from Beauty Bay (the link is under the pics) and this shade is currently on sale for £7.82 with free delivery so you can't really afford not to! Hedonist has some competition for my top summer shade now I've discovered this little lovely.

April Glossybox 2013

I did have a birthday haul post planned for today but when I discovered that this had been delivered when I got home from work (complete with slug attached) how could I not share such a fabulous box?! This months Glossybox is perfect inside and out, the Spring fever themed box was designed by Pearl Lowe (the beautiful Daisy Lowes mum) and I could not love it more, the print is gorgeous, I can't wait to get it on display somewhere! I was already a happy bunny just with the look of the box but then when I saw what was inside I was even happier, all I can say is: Best. Box. EVER! And this is why...

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Therapy - This doesn't actually launch in store and online until April 29th so it's an exclusive to all Glossybox subscribers which is exciting!! The tube is super, super cute and although the smell isn't really my cup of tea it leaves my hands silky soft and sinks into the skin really well, a definite addition to my handbag!

Nip+Fab Dry Skin Fix Body Butter in Postachio Sundae - This body butter is an alarming bright green colour but oh my god, THE SMELL!!!!!!! I haven't even used this yet but I know already that it's a definite re-buy so I can smell this delicious for the rest of my life.

Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Torment - Eeeeeeek, hello Illamasqua! I was so excited to see this brand in my box this month. This is something I would never buy myself but it's nice to be able to try, it's a pencil for lips, eyes and brows. The colour I got was Torment which looked like a rose pink but once swatched it's quite a bit darker than I expected, I don't think I'll be using this on my brows any time soon but I will definitely find a way to incorporate it into my make up somehow.

Yves Rocher France So Elixer Purple Yves Rocher Eau de Parfum - I wish I had taken a picture of the dinky bottle this came in because it is adorable but my dinner was in the oven and a Gossip Girl marathon was imminent (When the boys away Chuck Bass comes out to play!) I wouldn't trust this in my bag as the lid isn't very secure. It's not my usual sickly sweet scent but I do actually really like it so it will have a place on my dressing table to look cute and dab on when I'm in the mood for something a bit more floral.

Essie Nail Lacquer in We're in it Together - Something else very exciting nestled in all that annoying black shredded paper, a full size Essie nail varnish!! The shade I received was from the Breast Cancer Awareness collection which I couldn't support more. It's a pale glittery pink which I would never pick myself but I've got nothing like it already and it's nice to have a bit of variety in your collection!

Glossybox is going to struggle to outdo this baby, did you receive something different in your box this month?

Monthly Favourites | March 2013

I can't believe that April is only a couple of days away already - hello Birthday month!! I feel like March has been a proper pamper month for me and I've spent most of it covered in bubbles trying to make myself smooth, polished and glowing! This stupid confused weather has completely dried out my poor skin and has brought out all sorts of dry patches so when my skin is feeling thirsty I whack on a layer of Origins Make a Difference Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment overnight (It takes a while to sink in so I find it best as a night time cream) and by the morning my skin has took it all in and the dryness has reduced significantly also leaving my skin noticeably more plump looking. Another thing that has taken a beating this month has been my lips, this Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment is courtesy of a Birchbox and has been my saviour, it smells delicious and leaves lips a nice subtle pink colour as well as being very moisturising and leaving them super soft and crack free. Another beauty box special and bath time favourite is this Monu Warming Aromatic Mask the idea is that you leave this on for 15 minutes after you've cleansed and toned and then wipe it off and reveal beautiful skin, I don't think I've ever seen my complexion so bright, I am definitely without a doubt going to be rebuying this. Soap and Glory The Daily Smooth is my new go to moisturiser (full review here) I love the easy to use tube and the gorgeous smell. I bought Essie Tart Deco because I thought spring was on its way and this was a perfect spring shade, I couldn't have been more wrong about the weather but even the snow hasn't stopped me from wearing this for most of the month, it's a one coat formula that seems to be indestructible! Last but certainly not least is my number one product of the month Benefit Fine One One (full review here) I feel like I owe my newly found cheekbones and a lot more to benefit for coming up with this product! Cheeks, lips, highlighting, contouring, tinting, need I say more?!

I hope that you're all having a lovely break away from work and are psyching yourselves up to eat the weight of your MAC collection in chocolate tomorrow, happy Easter lovelies!!

A Little Bit of a Haul! | ASOS, Boots, Bath & Unwind, Ebay & Debenhams

I'm starting to think that my official job title should be 'bargain hunter' as I don't think any of this wasn't discounted or part of an offer. Why spend more than you have too?! I haven't used any of these yet but I just wanted to show you what I've been spending my pennies on recently and a sneak peek of a few things that will be coming up on here soon.

I got a £2 off Essie voucher from Boots in the post a while back that's due to expire this week so I took a trip to Boots solely to spend that but my will power isn't that strong and as well as Tart Deco I came out with a few Soap and Glory bits too. They're on 3 for 2 at the minute so I got a Sugar Crush Body Scrub (Nearly got the shower gel too but decided to be sensible as I'm still using up my Christmas smellies stash) The Daily Smooth body butter, Glad Hair Day intensive conditioner and Hand Maid antibacterial gel (I work handling money so hopefully this will make it a little less gross!).

Did anyone else get the 25% off everything Email from ASOS last week? If you ignored that then you're a better person than I am! I'd been eyeing up Fine One One and this NARS eyeshadow duo in Kuala Lumpur for a while now and I knew all it would take for me to get my debit card out was a discount code and good old ASOS produced the goods!

The MAC lipstick you can see is the one I've been coveting for months...CANDY YUM YUM! It was like fate, Debenhams finally had it in stock and a 10% off beauty offer on at the same time, how could I pass that up?!

Bath & Unwind isn't a website that I use a lot but I bought some Minnie Mouse OPI nail varnishes from there last year and they operate a points system and I think I had something like £1.16 to redeem so that was the little push I needed to order the Euro Centrale mini collection (These are in an upcoming wish list post but the postman beat me too it)

And last but not least the little gold ring is an Ebay special at 99p, I just thought it was cute, it says love on it and reminded me of the Dior Oui ring!

So there you have it, the newest additions to my beauty collection. Which product would you most like to see a review on?

Midweek Wish List #1

1-2-3-4

1. Thank you Glossy Box for introducing me to this little beauty! I love the smell, I love the texture, I love how soft it makes my skin, I think it's safe to say I bloody love it and I've about ran out so hurry up pay day!

2. I don't actually own any Essie nail varnishes yet and I pick Leading Lady up and put it back down every time I go in Boots (which is a lot) and then I get a £2 off Essie voucher from them through the post! It's either fate or they're just fed up of me loitering around the Essie stand and thought I needed a little push to purchase.

3. It's true what they say, when you can't have something you really, really, want it! Which is completely the case with Candy Yum Yum, when I saw it available in the By Request collection I thought it was nice but could live without it but then when I went back to order and it was gone I decided I needed it to carry on living so you can imagine my delight when I read that it's going to be a permanent member of the MAC family in February, come to me!!

4. My lovely boyfriend has arranged a beautiful Valentines weekend and I can't imagine a more occasion appropriate dress and who doesn't love a quirky print?!
