Midweek Wish List #27

1-2-3-4-5

1. Ever since I saw this on Lily Pebbles Instagram claiming that it's a god send for hormonal breakouts it's been at the top of my wish list. My skin has been having a bit of a breakdown for the past few months and it always seems to be at the same time of the month so at this point I am willing to try anything and £27 is a small price to pay for something so raved about that will bring my skin back to life!

2. I've finally upgraded from my trusty iPhone 4 to a 5s and the phone case opportunities are endless! Sharks are my favourites animals in the world and even though this phone case isn't the most practical thing I just love it, who doesn't want to pull a little shark out of their pocket when their phone rings?!

3. Blame Kim Kardashian but I'm having a complete love affair with pointy heels at the minute even though they are something that this time last year I would vow never to put on my feet! I would probably never have considered  white heels before but after seeing a near identical pair on Kimmy K with her grey jeans, grey t shirt and leather jacket I feel a need for a pair in my shoedrobe!

4. I didn't really but into the hype with many (if any) MAC collections last year but having a look at the collection calendar for 2015 this is definitely set to change! The two coming up in the next few weeks that I'll be refreshing the page to get in my basket is the Miley Cyrus Viva Glam lipstick in the most gorgeous hot fuscia and another limited edition peachy matte dream of a lipstick.

5. It's rose gold and will help me on my quest for supermodel sharp cheekbones, what's not to love?!

Topshop Whimsical Lipstick

Well I have officially lost my blogging mojo, if anyone has any tips on getting it back please let me know. I'm going to try and get a few posts up before Christmas in between all the shopping, wrapping and partying, cross my heart! To ease me back in to my old blogging routine I've got a Topshop lipstick review and I've had this one for quite a while but it got lost in the depths of my bag but has now been rediscovered!

Whimsical is a shade that I've wanted to try for ages and is described on the Topshop website as 'pinky nude' but I definitely see more orange than pink nevertheless it's a really nice everyday shade but I think it might be better suited to paler skin tones as similarly to MAC Sweet and Sour when I've been hitting the Xen Tan it can look a little stark. The formula is meant to be matte and although it isn't glossy I wouldn't say it was a true matte but saying that, this lipstick and dry lips do not go together at all as it goes on quite patchy as it is so if you've got any dryness going on it's just going to emphasize it. It's a shame that it doesn't go on as smoothly as I'd like and can get a little chalky as it wears because the shade is seriously lovely and when I've got it on it makes my skin look really pink and fresh. Now I've fished this out from the bottom of my bag hidden by Asda receipts and hair grips I'm going to slick on the lip balm and hopefully make the texture work for me because I love the shade!

'Tis The Season for a Festive Jumper!

The first of  December is here so you are officially allowed to dig out your Christmas jumper! I absolutely love a Christmassy jumper over the festive season and this year they are cuter than ever. They're such a comfy little style statement and if you've got me on Instagram you would have seen that I've had the H&M 'Dear Santa I want it all' jumper ready and raring to go for weeks now but had stern instructions from Joel that I must wait for December! I'm going to use Lauren Conrad as my inspiration this year because this is the best styling of a Christmas jumper I've ever seen and if that doesn't make you want to run out and buy one or shove the one you've already got on I don't know what will!

OOTN #12

Jumper - Topshop
Skirt - River Island
Shoes - Topshop

It's been a while since I've done an outfit post and I found this one deep in the Berlin archives so here we go and please excuse the angelic halo around my head! This was our first night in Berlin and we weren't venturing far from the hotel bar so I braved it and bared my legs but since we'd been up since 4am catching planes and trains my eyes wouldn't let me put my contact lenses in so I had to settle with specs for a night!

I fell in love with this Topshop jumper the second I saw it, it's soft and fluffy and the nicest colour I've ever set my eyes on, an almost neon peach honestly it's gorgeous. I don't usually go for things that are cropped because my tummy is something I like to keep covered up but I had this skirt in mind which after seeing Lily Pebbles wearing it I had to buy and being high waisted there is minimal skin on show! I usually live in jeans in the winter but this leather look skirt goes with everything and you can dress it up or down so the price per wear is already down to mere pounds! I hope I can find some more things to pair this jumper with because it's lovely and I'm thinking with a pencil skirt there's a bit of a Kim K vibe going on even without the waist training and enviable booty!

The Hunt For The Perfect Winter Boots!

You may notice a few distinct similarities between all of the above - they're black, they have a bit of a heel and gold hardware if any. I have a very specific vision for the boots that I'm after, I've got a well loved pair of flat chelsea boots and am after something a little bit smarter but still day appropriate. I'm a complete short arse and have teeny, tiny stumpy legs so I'm after a small heel just to lengthen my legs but I need to be able to walk in them still because there is nothing worse than looking like bambi on ice in a pair of heels! I don't want too much detail either, I'm not keen on boots that are covered in buckles and zips but I do like this gold plate thing that's going on with heels at the minute. So to summarize I need in my life: black boots that are plainish but metal plates on the heel are acceptable with a little chunky heel but I must be able to walk in them...I don't ask for much do I?!

Is there anywhere that I'm missing on my quest for the perfect boots, where else can I search?!

Trick or Treat?!

I love all of the cute and quirky accessories that come with Halloween, if I could wear cat ears all year round then I would! Unfortunately I haven't got any plans for Halloween this year but not wanting to miss out I've found some bits that I might just get away with wearing without looking like a crazy woman (minus the veily cat ears, I would definitely get laughed out of work in them) If a real spider tried to set up camp in my hair there would be a lot of flapping around and screaming but I just can't resist this sparkly little fella paired with a dark, witchy matte lip, some spooky nails and I am good to go! You can make me wear a uniform to work on 31st October but you can't keep a glittery spider clip out of my hair!

Monthly Favourites | September 2014

September is a long distant memory now but this is better late then never right?! I think every time I've planned to write this post something has happened - on Wednesday me and Joel had planned to go and see Gone girl at half seven so I was ready to blog before we left but then he decided the 6:10 showing would be better... at quarter to six (the film is really good but LONG so even though I did moan about getting bundled into the car in a rush it was a better time but don't tell Joel that) on Thursday I was going to have a pamper night and write some posts up but as I was getting out of the shower I fainted and smacked my head on the towel rail on the way down so that was a night spent waiting for paramedics to come and make sure I wasn't concussed so all these plan changes have been very inconvenient and messed with my blogging time! I am now finally getting that pamper day (and I stayed conscious this time which is a bonus!) so I'm not moving until I have a few posts finished.

I discovered this eye liner completely by accident trying to make up a Superdrug order so I got free delivery and I think it's the best thing I've found in my life. ever (and that's no exaggeration!) I thought my L'Oreal liner was sent from eyeliner heaven but this blows it out of the water. It's jet black, doesn't dry up quickly, lasts all day, has the perfect tip for smooth lines and flicks and did I mention it's £2.99?!

I'm suprised there wasn't more of a fuss made for the launch of these diddy little pencils, they just seemed to come from nowhere and were a nightmare to get hold of but thank god I finally did! The shade I've been wearing the most is In With Coral which is a bright shade with a creamy long lasting consistency that dries matte. There are a number of other colours so if coral isn't your thing there's bound to be be something that is.

I've been using this weekly treatment for a while now and although my skin is going through a horrendous spell at the minute when I've used this and washed it off my skin is so soft and even though I've not found it to help with the blemishes it does brighten up my complexion.

I know cream blusher season is coming to a close but a Boots offer has only just brought this little beauty into my life so I can't let go just yet! This applies like a dream, I love the chubby stick type packaging and the brightening peachy shade, I could not recommend this more.

Another cheek product that I love to use when I'm having a dull skin day that can perk it right up! This product definitely lives up to the packaging that it comes in and the three shades in the stripes compliment each other beautifully.

I love these little things for when I'm having bad hair days to pop on with a messy bun or a half up half down hairstyle to detract from the greasy mess that lies underneath. They are so cute that I might have to get a little collection on the go!

Midweek Autumn Wishlist #25

1-2-3-4-5

1. I need this scarf in my life! It's a Primarni special and I love everything from the colours to the print. The thought that scarf weather is approaching fast wouldn't be so bad if I had this to wear.

2. If you've already seen my Boots haul post you'll know that I've already got my hands on this little beauty. I've never worn a dark berry lip before because they scare me but I really liked the look of the shade Berry Much and for £4.99 you can't afford not to give it a whirl!

3. I really do love these kind of hats but I can't justify spending Topshop prices on something that, to be honest I'll only probably wear a handful of times and this is where this Primark gem comes in! A guilt free, cheap and cheerful purchase that will fill my Autumn hat needs.

4. My ballet pumps have well and truly taken a back seat at the moment in favour of loafer style shoes, they look just as good, are a bit more sturdy and can handle the rain a hell of a lot better. This Topshop pair are just what my wardrobe needs, I originally had my heart set on the bright red pair but they went out of stock quicker than I could get to my debit card however, this burgundy pair will go with everything!

5. This has turned into a very burgundy/purpley wish list! It seems like such a long time ago since I wore darker nail varnish colours and between then and now I had a little clear out to cull my ever growing nail varnish collection but it seems all I've got left is pastels and neons and if that isn't an excuse to treat yourself to a few new autumnal shades I don't know what is!

Give a Girl The Right Shoes And Her Bank Account Will Be Empty

Topshop are absolutely smashing it at the minute with their shoes and already not being able to pass up anything with the hint of a heart on them makes these pair of gorgeous pumps even harder to resist! I usually steer clear of anything patent or pointy but these are just too cute to pass up. There's no denying that the weather is getting closer and closer towards that time when we have to drag out the tights and I always struggle to find shoes that aren't boots that look nice with them but I think that these black pumps would look adorable and they don't remind me of work shoes like most black shoes do! I love nude shoes, they literally go with everything and I've wrecked many a pair of the soft Topshop ballet pumps, chuck in a heart and I'm sold, I can see these with ankle grazing skinny jeans and a fine knit jumper now the weather is turning more autumny, pass me my debit card!

You can't tell me that these are not the perfect shoes for a beauty blogger?! I am so, so in love with these glittery pieces of heaven, the £150 price tag makes me cry a little bit though but I'm sure the happiness that every step in these would bring me is worth more than anything money could buy (this is me trying to rationalize spending this much on a pair of shoes...I think it's working) Another pair of more affordable slippers are these £9.99 (now £6, get them in your basket!) H&M pair which I really like, especially the print. I love these slipper style kind of shoes, they're comfy and look cute, I couldn't ask for more really!

My Favourite Cream Blushers

When I'm going for a dewy, glowy makeup look I always make sure that I've got a cream blusher to hand and my love for them has actually overtaken that of any powder blusher I own that may have stolen my heart (I'm sorry NARS Sex Appeal, I'm looking at you) I do tend to use them more in the summer but there's a few that get an airing all year around but they're bloody beautiful so can you blame me?!

Illamasqua Rude (Full review here)
If there's a brand that know how to make a cream blusher then it's Illamasqua and this was the one that started my whole creamy love affair. Rude is an orange based peach and even when blended out leaves a beautiful dewy finish and the colour lasts for as long as you do. The only thing I would say is that the blusher is super pigmented so you only need a little bit but it can easily be built up.

Stila Gerbera (Full review here)
Gerbera is a spring perfect milky coral shade and it's the gloopiest (there are probably better words to use but just go with me!) formula of cream blusher that I've come across and like Rude it leaves a dewy sheen to your cheeks which might not be ideal for the oily skinned girlies out there. I was a bit concerned about the sticky factor but it doesn't leave you with tacky face and is really comfortable on leaving the perfect flushed look if used sparingly!

Bourjois NudeVelvet (Full review here)
If you're a cream blusher virgin then the little round pots would be the perfect place to start - it's a cream to powder finish which makes it look like a natural flush to your cheeks and the colour is so light and subtle it's impossible to go wrong as well as it being easy peasy lemon squeezey to apply so no brushes are required just your fingers and about ten seconds of your time. As it is so subtle I would probably recommend it more to pale beauties but there's a whole range of shades so there's definitely something for everyone.

Another cream to powder blusher and the pinkest of the bunch. This is definitely the most powdery formula and takes a bit of  building up but like the Bourjois offering of the same finish it's a lovely subtle shade that leaves a natural flush which would be perfect for a lighter skin tone. At £7.00 a pop for one of these you really can't go wrong and it's a great starting point before you splash the cash on something a bit more high end if you get the cream blush bug (I hear it's extremely contagious!)

I apply all of the above with my fingers to start with on the apples of my cheeks and then blend it out with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. If you have any cream blusher recommendations for me then please comment, additions to the family are always welcome! I'm now going to go and torture myself with the Feel Unique Sale, wish me and my bank balance luck!

It's Raining, It's Pouring!

1-2-3-4-5

The umbrella - an underrated accessory. This is something that you'll get a lot of use of especially if you're like me and live in the UK - the sun might be shining now but my umbrella has got a lot of use this week! I always like to have a cute umbrella on standby in case the heavens open, who says you can't be pretty and practical?! I begrudgingly have to admit that summer is drawing to a close (boohoo!) and we're going to get a few more dull rainy days but even though your hair might be a straggly damp mess and your feet might be soggy no one will notice because they'll be admiring your brolly if you pick one of these bad boys!

Empties #4

Every time I've finished something up I've just been shoving it in the bottom drawer of my bedside table and I didn't quite realise how much I'd actually collected up until I emptied it all out so here is my well overdue empties post and I've finally got my bottom drawer back!

Hair

Elnett Heat Styling Spray
I don't quite know why I haven't repurchased this because I really enjoyed using it, it's a heat protection spray with volumising qualities that are meant to last for three days and it really did work, my hair was so much more voluminous after I'd dried it.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray
I am currently waiting for a new one of these to arrive because I can't live without it in the summer! This is the best salt spray that I've ever used, I spray it on damp hair and then let it dry naturally, giving it a bit of a scrunch to encourage waves and it leaves such a lovely undone beachy look.

L'oreal Paris Studio Line Texturising Spray
This can get quite sticky so it's best to use for updo's because if you wear your hair down it tends to look a bit greasy and feel matted up. I did really like this but it would be better if it was a little bit lighter like the Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Spray.

Ojon Instant Restorative Hair Serum
I really wanted to like this but I didn't, it smelt awful and It was really heavy on my hair and I found it to tangle my hair up and make it a nightmare to brush.

Aussie Three Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner
You can't get anymore convenient than three minutes on and then silky soft hair! This was lovely to use and left my hair in a brushable state which is a miracle.

Bumble & Bumble Thickening Hairspray
I can see why this is so popular, it made my hair look visibly fuller without making it crusty or greasy looking.

Skincare

Origins Never A Dull Moment Face Polish
This is a really gentle exfoliater that I probably didn't use as consistently as I should have but whenever I did use it my face felt clean and soft.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
I think there's been one of these in every empties post that I've done and it needs no explanation! It is a holy grail product like everyone says and there's no doubt I'll be getting a new one at some point.

Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion
I took this on holiday with me because the sun really dries out my skin and the last thing I want is a peeling nose! It kept me moisturized and I don't think I got one patch of flakiness or even a tight face when I'd been out sunbathing.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil
I got this when I'd had a really bad breakout on my chin and I couldn't shift the red marks that were left and this really, really helped clear it all up. I'd definitely buy it again if I needed some marks fading and apparently it's good for stretchmarks as well.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess
I LOVE THIS PERFUME!!!!! I'm on my second bottle of this and I will rebuy it every Summer that it carries on being released. It's coconutty perfection and I live in it!

The Body Shop Camomile Eye Make up Remover
I love black eyeliner and lashings of mascara so I need all the help I can get removing it at the end of the day. This is so gentle and really does the job, I've just bought another one as well so it must be good!

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spray
I completely forgot about this (that's how long these empties have been collecting up) and I had good intentions to repurchase but never got round to it and now how much I enjoyed using this is all flooding back! It's perfect for this weather because it's so refreshing and left a lovely glow.

Lush Snow Fairy
Do I even need to elaborate on this?! This Christmas I'm going to be stocking up on these bad boys, it's my favourite Lush time of year!

Origins Ginzing Moisturizer
Hands down the best day moisturizer that I've used in a long, long time and I really need to get a new one of these because I really miss using it and it should have lasted longer but a certain boy took a liking to it...

Face

Benefit The Porefessional Primer
This served me well on holiday and kept my makeup in place in the heat and I also found that it is quite matte so saved me from being an oily mess! I wouldn't repurchase this full size as there are primers you can get in Boots that are just as good but it was nice to revisit!

Topshop Glow in Polish
I cannot rave about this enough, it's my holy grail highlighter and I've repurchased this as well as back ups because it has the habit of disappearing for months at a time and I can't be without it, my glowing face relies on this little pot of magic!

NARS Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc
Another one of my holy grail face products that I always repurchase and have even got another shade for when I'm looking a bit less pale which I've never done before! It's the perfect coverage for me and I love the radiant finish.

Maybelline Concealer
It's such a shame that this exploded because I was loving the fomula, coverage and spongey applicator but the twist to dispense product has put me off buying it again because it wasted no end of product and was really messy.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Serum Foundation
I didn't even realize I had two types of this until I had them side by side to take the pictures! This is my favourite drug store foundation and the most similar to NARS sheer glow with a lovely finish and medium coverage and if I'm short on pennies and NARS is out of reach that month this is always what I'd go for.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder
This is a nice natural powder that is really light and not cakey at all, I would definitely reccomend this if you're in the market for something new.

YSL Touche Eclat
I really do love this but it doesn't last very long so I can only get them on special occasions because of the price but it really is the daddy of all clicky pen highlighters and can hide a night of partying no problem!

Eyes

Benefit Fake Up Concealer
This isn't for your eyes but it somehow managed to sneak in with all the eye products! This is a brilliant product and it is as moisturizing as it makes out and more I found when it used to transfer my bottom lash mascara all under my eyes but a bit of setting powder soon sorted that out and it's just the price that puts me off again as there are so many drugstore brands that do under eye concealers just as good and half the price.

L'Oreal Falsh Lash Telescopic, Million Lashes & Miss Manga Mascaras
L'Oreal is my brand of choice when it comes to my eyelashes and I've tried every high end brand going for a mascara that I deem worthy and none of them come close to how thick, long and fluttery my lashes are especially with Million Lashes. Miss Manga I wasn't so keen on and it only really took to my bottom lashes so I wouldn't bother with that again but the others are a welcome addition to my makeup bag!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner
This would be my liquid liner of choice if it didn't dry up so quickly. It stays put and stays dark when it's new but I've found that even a week after starting to use it it's going grey and is hard to apply. I don't know if it's because I've been using the mini version but I just wish it lasted longer.

L'Oreal Superliner
Now this is my liner of choice, can't you tell?! It lasts forever and is still as black as the first time that you used it, the tip is the perfect shape for getting a good flick on the go and it lasts all day or night long.

ELF Eyeshadow Primer
If you want crease free, long lasting eyeshadow and still get change from a fiver then this is what you're after. Because of the price I didn't have the highest of hopes despite reading some rave reviews but I was wrong and it is as good as everyone says!

Midweek Wishlist #24

1-2-3-4

1. I only just came across this little beauty today when I was having a Selfridges browse and it's a case of I've seen it and now I need it! I think Vivienne Westwood jewellery is really reasonably priced and I might have treated myself for getting through the last couple of weeks at work after being on holiday but I smashed my iPhone screen last week and after getting it repaired my pretty fund is dwindling! Next pay day though this rose gold gem will have to make its way onto my wrist!

2. Ginzing is one of my favourite ranges to put on my face and now there are two new additions to the family in the form of a scrub and a face mask. Origins do face masks like no other so I have high, high hopes for that one and the scrub is just what I need to wake me up in the mornings.

3. I keep spotting pictures of Kourtney Kardashian with a gorgeous pink lip colour on which I assumed must be MAC or YSL but it's actually from the Kardashian collection make up range which you can get for £9 from Look Fantastic! So my lips are sorted, now I just need to work on a wardrobe like hers.

4. At the minute I'm living in jelly shoes and tan sandals and I know we've only just got a glimpse of summer but I'm thinking forward to autumn and I really want a nice pair of flats. I've got the obligatory nude pair of Topshop ballet flats that every girl has but I wanted something a bit more sturdy and that is where these come in, they're still that nudey colour that I love but they just look a bit more put together and I can see them with black skinny jeans and a fine knit jumper. I've actually just put them with too many outfits not to buy them this second now, topshop.com here I come!

I'm loving...Anything and Everything with a Scallop Hem

I am a sucker for anything cute and girly, heart prints, polka dots, cats, I've got to have it. I'm not quite sure how it works that giving something a wavy hem makes it 80% prettier but I've chosen not to question it and just to embrace it! The high street is going scallop hem crazy right now and I just think that it makes the plainest of items look cute and a bit more interesting. I absolutely love, love, love the mint green Topshop Co-ord but the skirt alone would look amazing with a plain cami top or a printed shirt. I may have already purchased the black ASOS shorts (come on, they were in the sale, they were practically free!) and they just remind me of something Kourtney Kardashian would wear with a baggy top, kimono and MAC Morange on her lips. Keep the scallop hems coming High Street!

Midweek Wish List #23

1-2-3-4-5

1. I've been meaning to try GlamGlow for ages but the price keeps putting me off, I know a lot of people swear by it and their glowing complexions have this to thank but I'm going to wait for a full report from one of my friends who have just invested and if she looks radiant then I might just splash the cash!

2. I got a rather generous sample of this in a Birchbox a few months ago and it really does live up to the hype, I've never really gone for the whole tinted moisturizer thing and the thought of leaving the house without full coverage sends shivers down my spine but I love this, the coverage isn't bad at all, it highlights all the right places and doesn't tinted moisturizer just scream holiday to you?!

3. It's been raining a lot, I love stripes and I want to stay dry - do I need any more reasons for this coat to be necessity in my life?

4. I know these have been in Toshop for a while now and I've completely ignored them until I saw a picture of someone wearing this to tie up a messy bun and it looked so cute so now I need one in every pattern and colour!

6. When I went to see Katy Perry (I swear I'll stop talking about this one day) her eyes were lined with glitter underneath which looked amazing and Chanel have done it with sequins so if it's good enough for them then I want in on the action. I love that pro products are now available on the MAC website and these 3D glitters have just launched which are a perfect way to get the look.

OOTN #11

Top - Tesco
Trousers - River Island
Shoes- Topshop

I do apologize for being so absent in the blogging world the past week, after all the Katy Perry excitement there was another dose of excitement in my life on Tuesday when my teeny tiny baby sister was born so I've been in a little pink bubble of cuddles and tiny fingers and toes but I'm back on the band wagon now!

I wore this outfit last week when me and Joel went out for a meal and this picture was taken well before I went into a pizza coma! I don't know if you're like me but I'm always looking for 'the perfect' something and about a month ago it was the perfect printed trousers and it was only by pure chance that I stumbled across these. Our TV just happened to blow up one morning and we had to go on an emergency trip to Fosse Park to replace it (because god forbid we had to talk to each other with no background noise!) and I can't just walk past somewhere where some serious money can be spent. I love the print and the shape of them, they're really lightweight and comfy but I just wish they were a tiny bit shorter for wearing with flats in the day but that's just because I'm a short arse. I kept the rest of the outfit simple as the trousers speak for them self and paired them with my yellow cami top which I am loving being able to wear without a cardigan or coat on top and I really need to get some more colours of because they go with everything and my pointy Topshop shoes that I have now forgiven for making one of my toes numb for a whole week, how can something so beautiful do so much damage?!
