London OOTD #5 & #6 and OOTN #10 & #11

Outfits L-R:
Coat - New Look, Top - Primark, Jeans - Topshop, Boots - Topshop, Bag - Mulberry
Top - Primark, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - Vivienne Westwood for Melissa, Bag - Mulberry
Coat - New Look, Dress - Zara, Boots - Topshop, Bag - Mulberry
Top - Next, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - Topshop

Why is it so hard to pack for a few days?!?! So much stuff for such a little case! These are the outfits that I wore while I was in London last week minus my coming home outfit because we were in too much of a rush as lugging my make up filled case around slowed me down and annoyed Joel (can't beat a bit of holiday tension!)

On the day we went I was going for comfort so wore my trusty Topshop Leigh jeans, a floral cami style top and a light jacket which I'm glad I took because it was nice when we left the house but when we got into London it was chucking it down, hence the umbrella! I hadn't actually planned on getting changed that night but after a little trip to Primark and a new top to debut I ended up changing into that and putting my heart shoes on (the last time for a good few days I could even wear heels - Oxford Street you ruined me!!) before we went for an Italian, yum! The following day we hit the shops and I wore my yellow Zara dress (I also wore it in this outfit post here) I've only ever worn this once before and wanted to get the price per wear down. We went out again that night and I had a completely different outfit in mind but I literally did shop until I dropped so just kept it casual with my beloved black jeans and a red polka dot peplum top that I borrowed from my mum in an 'I have nothing to wear panic' the night before we went, I had to wear my Topshop pumps because all that shopping had blistered me up and it was easier to limp down the road in flats! If I look a bit weird in these pictures it's because my fringe has grown ridiculously long and I'm trying to rock more of a centre parting but I'm not quite sure of it yet, I just think I look strange. I'm going to give it a couple of weeks and see if it grows on me before I beg my friend (who persuaded me to let her put the scissors down and try it) to give me the chop. And that concludes my london outfits, back into my onesie now!

OOTD #4 at the Zoo!

Dress - Primark
Cardigan - Zara
Boots - Topshop
Bag - Mulberry
Sunglasses - Topshop

Since the football season started I've been a football widow so last Sunday Joel said he'd make it up to me and take me wherever my heart so desired and I chose the zoo! I'm a sucker for zoos and aquariums, what can I say?! I just love looking at cute furry things or anything out of Finding Nemo! I am still refusing to wear jeans or tights until at least the end of the month so thank god it was a nice day even if it was quite windy and I was at risk of having a Marilyn moment a couple of times. This Primark dress is my favourite dress ever at the minute, it's so comfy and I love the cute print - I've literally worn it to death since I got it. I need good old Primarni to bang it out in a few other prints so I can alternate them! I got this Zara cardigan about five years ago at the airport in Salou on the way home from my first parentless holiday, it's one of those things that I'll forget about for 6 months and then when I discover it again you can't get me out of it - I can't say it's not served me well! The zoo is all grass and dusty stone paths so I wore my studded Topshop boots that are now grey and not black.

I had a really lovely day but I don't need to see a monkey for a long, long time. Our local zoo is Twycross zoo and it's literally Monkey central there. Too many chimps and not enough lions and tigers for my liking!  If you were here for the fashion and not the furry you can bugger off now but if you want to see some animals then here's some pictures!

OOTN #8

Dress   Zara
Bag   ASOS
Shoes   Zara via Ebay

First things first, apparently tomorrow is the day that Google Reader will be no more and if Google Friend Connect goes alongside that then please follow me on Bloglovin so you won't miss out on any posts or follow me on Twitter (@Jade_ylntxo) because I usually link them on there as well. If it is gone tomorrow then hopefully I'll see you all on the other side!

The last few weeks have been absolutely mental, first the house which is now 90% sorted and we're all settled in so life was starting to get peaceful again and then tomorrow crept up on me when I'm starting a new-ish job. I say new-ish because the company that I work for is merging with another company so it's not a brand spanking new job, I'll still be walking in the same doors, sitting at the same desk with (most of) the same people around me so it's not as scary as it could be but I still don't have a bloody clue what I'm doing! To bid adieu to our little work family me and my work pal and future sister in law Ria (she is Joel's brothers wife, a little fact for you there!) planned a night of fine dining and cocktails for us all. I got this dress from Zara a good month ago now especially for the occasion, I've been trying to buy bright recently as I realised I was getting a bit dull in the old wardrobe department. I love the colour of this and it has some power shoulders going on. I did think that I'd be able to wear this in the day and dress it down but it's quite a thick, stiff material so I don't know if I could pull it off in the day but it's definitely a contender for nights out from now on. I've wanted a bag this colour since I saw this picture of Lauren Conrad years ago but never found anything until ASOS stepped in and answered my prayers, it was also in the sale when I bought it so that was an added bonus. This was the first time that I'd used this clutch and I love it, it's roomy, has zip pockets and the separate pocket on the front of the bag is detachable, it's a poor mans Mulberry Willow! I finished the outfit off with a splash of leopard print in the form of my favourite shoes of the moment which I originally thought were really comfy but I can confirm that after 3 hours of dancing you will be crippled the next day.

I hope that you're all making the most of the sun being out!

OOTD #4

Top  Topshop
Jeans  Topshop
Jacket  New Look
Scarf  Alexander McQueen
Bag  Mulberry

I was having a little rummage in my blog folder, trying to shape it into some sort of order and came across this outfit that I never got round to posting (probably because I couldn't find it!) This is from my Valentines weekend with Joel when we went shopping in Nottingham the day after a night full of Italian food and cocktails. When I've got money to spend shopping is like a serious sport, I need to be comfortable so flats are a must and I need to be able to actually see where I'm going and what I'm picking up meaning that I can't go on a serious spree without my specs on. This is just a really simple, neutral coloured outfit that I added a bit of colour to by chucking on a bright scarf. You also can't see very well (or at all - Joel's photography again!) but these jeans are covered in tiny white polka dots and I always that think they give a plain outfit a bit of interest. So here you have it, a three month old outfit that lived to see the light of my little blog after being salvaged from the archives!

OOTD #2 & #3 | The 'Smart Casual Avoiding Jeans' Mission

                                          Shirt  Topshop                                              Top  Primark
                                             Skirt  Topshop                                          Trousers  Topshop
Boots   Topshop                             Shoes  Vivienne Westwood for Melissa

Last Thursday and Friday I had to go on a course for work and the dress code was smart casual strictly avoiding jeans, as someone who wears a uniform to work and mostly lives in jeans out of work the smart part of my wardrobe is pretty much non existent so this was quite a task for me!

On the first day I went for a polka dot shirt and floral skirt duo which written down sounds horrendous! I've seen quite a lot of print clashing in magazines and on other blogs which probably shouldn't work but really does so that's where my inspiration has come from here. I think the shirt keeps it quite professional looking but the prints keep it from being stuffy and injects a little bit of personality. I also added my studded boots which are nice and comfy as I had a heads up we were going to have a little jolly out into Nottingham for a customer service activity thing!

On day two I finally got to premier my lovely new Primark top, I love the boxy shape and the detailing around the neck, if I didn't know where it was from I would definitely think it was more Zara than Primark. I paired this with the smartest trousers I own which are these burgundy coloured polka dot ones. I was planning on wearing flats both days but I'm 5'2 with tiny stumpy legs and these trousers don't do me the a lot of favours without a bit of height. What I love about these shoes (apart from the bubblegum smell and massive heart!) is that the heels are such a manageable height but they still give your legs the illusion of a more higher heel.

So I ditched the uniform for a couple of days but it's back to black now, boohoo!

(A Very Snowy) OOTD!

Hat ♥ Primark
Scarf ♥ New Look
Top ♥ Topshop
Skirt ♥ Primark
Coat ♥ Topshop
Watch ♥ Marc Jacobs
Boots ♥ Topshop

So this is what I'm wearing to tackle this horrible weather! I really hate the snow, it's alright when you don't have to get anywhere but travelling is a complete mission! I felt like I'd taken my life in my own hands when I was walking home from work earlier which is only ten minutes down the road and I'm not even attempting to get in my car. My main objectives this weekend are to keep warm and keep upright, so we'll see how that goes!

I hope that everyone is having a nice, safe weekend and are as snug as a bug in a rug as my lovely Lunar is!
