Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and Dipbrow Pomade

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz & Dipbrow Pomade

I'm about to make quite a bold statement so brace yourself...these two products have stepped up my eyebrow game forever more! There's been no getting away from Anastasia Beverley Hills brow products and I resisted the hype until around Christmas when I had a few parties to go to and decided to treat myself to Brow Wiz and was so impressed that Dipbrow Pomade followed quite swiftly after and my brows had a whole new lease of life!

The first thing that impressed me about these two before I'd even typed in my card number was the range of shades they do, there is seriously something for everyone, I had a browse through some swatches and settled on Dark Brown which matches my brows perfectly. Out of the two of them Brow Wiz is the most natural looking and so easy to use with its thin nib that's perfect for doing little strokes and defining the shape, also on the opposite end is a spooly which I have never used before and am now thinking where have you been all my HD browed life?! I use it to tidy my eyebrows up before I start filling them in and then to tame them a bit more once they're all brow wizzed up which distributes the product and evens it all out adding to the natural look. The Dipbrow Pomade is definitely for more prominent, defined looking eyebrows and once this is on it isn't rubbing or fading off, it's work proof, weather proof and alcohol fueled night proof! I actually bought the Anastasia Beverly hills #12 brow brush which was recommended to go with the Dipbrow Pomade because my brow brush had seen better days and I now can't live without a spooly which this has one one of the ends. The brush is a dream to work with, perfectly angled which makes it easier to get a good brow shape on the go. I only use a teeny, tiny bit of Dipbrow because I think it would be very easy to go over the top so I build it up but it gives such amazing shape and fills them in perfectly.

I don't think I could ever use anything else on my eyebrows anymore so if you've been thinking about giving into the Anastasia Beverly Hills hype please do, your eyebrows will be forever grateful!

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Goddess

My Charlotte Tilbury cherry has finally been popped and I have one of her gorgeous eye shadow palettes in my possession that I can already see becoming a firm favourite of mine in 2015 already!

Charlotte Tilbury has so many lovely palettes to choose from but after a lot of deliberation and swatching I finally settled on the Golden Goddess palette which is full of neutral shimmery shades that are right up my street. Each colour has been coded to prime, enhance, pop or smoke which makes application a lot easier for eye shadow newbies like myself, it definitely makes me want to play around with the shades and step out of my comfort zone with a little push in the right direction.

As well as the packaging being the most luxurious thing ever in gorgeous gold and burgundy with a good sized mirror that has a teeny tiny little star engraved in the corner which is the cutest touch. The eye shadows are also such good quality and are so soft and buttery to apply along side being amazingly pigmented and a dream to apply and blend. The prime, enhance and smoke shades are all quite shimmery finishes but the darkest shade which looked like the scariest to me is just pure glitter and surprisingly my favourite out of the four, it really does make your eyes pop and adds some grown up sparkle to your look.

I know that these palettes are pricey but for the quality your getting I really can't complain at spending that little bit more. We all deserve a treat now and again and this is the direction I'd point you in!

What I Got For Christmas 2014

So today is not only the day that I start my detox it's also the day that I get my blog on and back into the blogging world after a little bit of a Christmas break! I've finally got round to rounding up everything I got for Christmas for my favourite kind of post at this time of year, better late than never right?! I know opinions are split on these kind of posts but personally I love them so here is mine for the nosy buggers like me out there!

No Christmas would be complete without something cosy to wear and I must have looked like I needed some rabbit slippers in my life ending up with two pairs that are equally as cute! I also got the glitteriest boots in the world and Joel got me the Kardashian t shirt that I'd shown him ages ago on Missguided (and to think I thought he never listened to me!) and it has to be the most flatteringly cut t shirt I've ever owned, I just love it for when I'm having a casual day.

I've seen this book popping up on a lot of Instagram feeds over Christmas so I'm guessing that Santa popped this under a few other bloggers trees as well, I've dipped into it a couple of times when I've had chance and have already picked up some really good tips so I would definitely recommend a read if you haven't already and a related present was a bookmark from Joel who is fed up of someone who reads so much having to find a receipt every time they put their book down! I haven't been able to stop listening to Taylor Swift's album since I got it either, my new favourite song ever, ever, ever is Style (sorry Katy Perry, you're still my queen!!)

I can honestly say that I have never smelt so good!! I've got so much pamper material right now and even if I had two baths a day for the rest of the year I don't think I'll get through all of this little lot in time for next Christmas and of course I need my fix of Snow Fairy which my lovely sister made sure I got with this adorable little box of heaven, I loved it so much that I actually bought another one in the sale!

If I've got the most exfoliated, moisturized body in the world my face and hair can't be left out now can it?! I've heard some really good things about Espa but have never tried it before Joel's mum got me a couple of sets for Christmas and I am a convert, this is a facial set and my skin was literally so healthy looking and glowing pretty much straight after I'd finished applying it all. I've also been using the Clinique set daily since I got it and my skin has really cleared up after just a couple of weeks, I've actually seen this in a couple of sales recently so it's definitely worth checking out.

Last but not least are the make up goodies that I got and I think that I'm pretty much sorted from lips to tips with this lot! The Anastasia Beverly Hills and Charlotte Tilbury bits are things that have been on my wish list for months now and I'm so happy to be able to tick them off and get them on my face! The only way that I can describe the two NARS sets are that they are a gift from the makeup gods, one is for cheeks and they other for lips with the perfect combination of colours, I don't think I'm going to need to buy any new lip or cheek products for the rest of the year (yeah right, who am I kidding?!) because these seriously cover all basis.

I must have been very good in 2014 because I have been a very lucky girl this Christmas and love everything that I received, I can't wait for a major pamper sesh and play with my new pretties! If you've done a what I got for Christmas post recently please link me below because I love these posts!

Topshop Whimsical Lipstick

Well I have officially lost my blogging mojo, if anyone has any tips on getting it back please let me know. I'm going to try and get a few posts up before Christmas in between all the shopping, wrapping and partying, cross my heart! To ease me back in to my old blogging routine I've got a Topshop lipstick review and I've had this one for quite a while but it got lost in the depths of my bag but has now been rediscovered!

Whimsical is a shade that I've wanted to try for ages and is described on the Topshop website as 'pinky nude' but I definitely see more orange than pink nevertheless it's a really nice everyday shade but I think it might be better suited to paler skin tones as similarly to MAC Sweet and Sour when I've been hitting the Xen Tan it can look a little stark. The formula is meant to be matte and although it isn't glossy I wouldn't say it was a true matte but saying that, this lipstick and dry lips do not go together at all as it goes on quite patchy as it is so if you've got any dryness going on it's just going to emphasize it. It's a shame that it doesn't go on as smoothly as I'd like and can get a little chalky as it wears because the shade is seriously lovely and when I've got it on it makes my skin look really pink and fresh. Now I've fished this out from the bottom of my bag hidden by Asda receipts and hair grips I'm going to slick on the lip balm and hopefully make the texture work for me because I love the shade!

Midweek Wish List #26 - SpaceNK Christmas Gift Sets

1-2-3-4-5

1. NARS always seem to smash it when it comes to Christmas and this palette is no exception, it includes Laguna bronzer which I've wanted to try for so long as well as a highlighter and three blushers - two that are limited edition and the final one is Deep Throat which I already have and love so another one won't hurt!

2. Hourglass have definitely done the rounds on beauty blogs this past year so I can see this on a lot of peoples Christmas lists. Three of the ambient light blushers housed in one palette, I have never seen so many promises of a glowing complexion in one palette!

3. I've heard so much about the Laura Mercier Caviar sticks and have wanted to give them a go for a while now and this gift set is the perfect opportunity to try six different shades which I can see getting a lot of use because of how beautiful and neutral they are. I think I might need them!

4. This is such a cute stocking filler, I love my Caudalie Beauty Elixer and carry it everywhere with me for a midday refresher so this would be perfect for a Beauty Elixer devotee or newbie.

5. Be still my beating heart!!! These diddy little pencils have topped my Christmas list this year, it's rare that I come across a gift set where I can see myself using every single shade and there's not one of these that I don't like! You get three velvet pencils and two matte and I think the shade picks are perfect, there's one for everyone and every occasion.

Eylure London Lash Edit

I'm not an eyelash snob but I only ever wear lashes by Eylure, why would I need to switch brands when they have so many amazing styles and anything that is good enough for Katy Perry is good enough for me! So when the lash edits were launched inspired by three of the most well known cities in the world London, Paris and New York I definitely needed one (if not all) of them in my life.

After seeing them all I knew straight away that the London edit was definitely the wardrobe that my lashes needed for the upcoming party season. I like my false eyelashes to be quite textured and natural looking while also adding length -  I know, I don't want much do I?! My all time favourite falsies that I have rebought and rebought are the Eylure 117's which are actually the middle pair of eyelashes in this little set. I love how fluttery all of these styles are and as well as being really eye opening and lash lengthening they're not too in your face. The only pair I haven't had chance to try out yet are the tops ones which I love the look of the thicker ends and can see them looking amazing with a major flick of eyeliner going on.

I think the packaging is really well thought out, they all co-ordinate with the city they're inspired by and are fastened with two little doors stuck down by velcro. Once you've got the doors open you can see your lovely lashes and there's a London quote on one side and a 'where to wear' on the other telling you which eyelashes they are if you were to buy them separately which I think is a really nice touch.

No matter how drunk I am when I'm taking them off I try to take care of my lashes and have lost count of how many times I've been able to reuse a pair of Eylure eyelashes, they are very resilient that's all I can say! I've never had any issues with the glue that's included either, once I've got my falsies on that's it and they're in place until I take them off and while they are on they're comfortable and being a contact lens wearer I've never had any irritation with the eyelashes or the glue - what's not to love?!

Monthly Favourites | October 2014

I'm trying to hide how awful the lighting and the picture in general is by plonking a massive talking spider in the middle of it all! I can't quite believe that we're nine days into November already, we're on a downwards slope to Christmas people! It's actually Joel's Birthday today so I'm writing this quickly before we go out for a meal to celebrate and then we're off to Berlin tomorrow for a few days and to say that I'm very unprepared is an understatement, my case is still unpacked, my hair is still unwashed and we're getting picked up at 5:30 tomorrow morning so between doing all that and catching the X Factor results I am a busy, busy bee!

Primark Round Bristle Brush
I don't know how I lived without this brush?! Now that my hair is shorter and I like to curl the ends under this is a god send to use while drying my hair. It's perfect for adding volume to the roots and rounding the ends, all you need to do after you've blow dried with this bad boy is a quick go over with the straighteners and you're good to go!

Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter
My Favourite primer ever is the Look Beauty Prime Time radiance one and when I ran out and tried to have a look what offers they have on they seem to have disappeared, does anyone know what happened to Look Beauty?! So now I'm on the look out for a replacement and this is doing a pretty good job so far, I use it mostly for priming and it does add a nice glow to your face but it is a very heavy almost oily glow that tones down when you put your foundation on but I couldn't wear it alone.

Barry M Red Black and Blackberry
If you only buy two nail varnishes this Autumn/Winter then make them these two, I've been rotating them for the whole of October and they literally go with anything and everything as well as being a flattering shade for ghostly winter skin.

Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in Berry Much
This is my first ever berry shade lip product (honestly!) and I have to say that I'm a complete convert. This pencil is easy to apply, long lasting and just the right amount of matte. If dark Autumn lips scare you then I would definitely give this a whirl, my phobia has been cured!

Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencils | Berry Much, Minimalist and In With Coral

Well weren't these little beauties extremely hard to get hold of?! Once I saw these popping up on a few blogs I needed in on the action but that was harder than I thought it would be - I tried too many Boots and Superdrugs as well as looking online and them being all sold out, I was beginning to think that I'd dreamt them until Boots online had a restock and they were finally all mine - sometimes it's hard work being a beauty obsessive!

If you're going by what the Boots website says there are ten different shades of these lip pencils but after what seemed like a worldwide hunt for them I have to disagree, there was only ever space for probably five pencils on the stands that I searched. The three shades that I finally got hold of were - In With Coral which is a bright pink based coral and the one that I had my heart set on, Minimalist which is another pinky shade but this time more of a nude and Berry Much which is completely out of my comfort zone and a deep matte purple. I was really looking forward to using Minimalist as a day lip colour but I have to say that I was disappointed by it, it's just nothingy and I don't know how else to explain it, I couldn't even tell that I had anything on my lips and I haven't worn it since which is a shame because I thought that would be the fail proof shade out of the three. Berry Much and In With Coral are definitely not disappointments thought, they both go on with a solid colour and because they're pencils you can get a really nice lip shape on the go with them. In With Coral is more of a satin finish and it does leave a slight sheen on the lips whereas Berry Much is completely matte and I found it to be a teeny tiny little bit drying on my lips. These look amazing on their own or you could always use them as a base for another shade, the possibilities are endless!

Despite one disappointing shade I do really like these and surprisingly my favourite of the three was the one that I was most unsure about - Berry Much! I think I may be a dark lip convert and just in time for the right season for it. If Boots have a 3 for 2 on and you're stuck for something to add to your basket then these are well worth a look in.

Midweek Wish List #25

1-2-3-4-5

1. I love having a book on the go and I've seen so many good things said about this one that it's made it straight to the top of my Christmas list. Who doesn't need a straight talking beauty companion on hand at all times?!

2. I absolutely love the look of these Makeup Revolution Blush Sticks, I've got my eye on all of the matte shades especially the contour colour. They remind me of the NARS matte multiples but for a fraction of the price which my bank account likes a lot.

3. I have to hold my hands up to this one and admit that it's the limited edition label and bright packaging that's drawn me into wanting this but then add a holy grail status into the mix and I'm sold! I've read that people swear by this little jar and my lips are a bit worse for wear at the minute so I think I need to put it to the test.

4. I confess that I've never tried a Benefit blusher before but now they're all housed under one roof (literally!) in this amazing little Christmas gift set. I gave the Benefit Christmas sets a miss last year but they've definitely pulled it out of the bag this year and I want pretty much everything but this is my number one beauty wish for Santa.

5. I do a lot of Pinterest browsing and I can't get away from slouchy jumpers over leather trousers with flat shoes or a shirt tucked into leather trousers and sky scraper heels. I need leather trousers to recreate both of these looks, need I say more?!

Monthly Favourites | September 2014

September is a long distant memory now but this is better late then never right?! I think every time I've planned to write this post something has happened - on Wednesday me and Joel had planned to go and see Gone girl at half seven so I was ready to blog before we left but then he decided the 6:10 showing would be better... at quarter to six (the film is really good but LONG so even though I did moan about getting bundled into the car in a rush it was a better time but don't tell Joel that) on Thursday I was going to have a pamper night and write some posts up but as I was getting out of the shower I fainted and smacked my head on the towel rail on the way down so that was a night spent waiting for paramedics to come and make sure I wasn't concussed so all these plan changes have been very inconvenient and messed with my blogging time! I am now finally getting that pamper day (and I stayed conscious this time which is a bonus!) so I'm not moving until I have a few posts finished.

I discovered this eye liner completely by accident trying to make up a Superdrug order so I got free delivery and I think it's the best thing I've found in my life. ever (and that's no exaggeration!) I thought my L'Oreal liner was sent from eyeliner heaven but this blows it out of the water. It's jet black, doesn't dry up quickly, lasts all day, has the perfect tip for smooth lines and flicks and did I mention it's £2.99?!

I'm suprised there wasn't more of a fuss made for the launch of these diddy little pencils, they just seemed to come from nowhere and were a nightmare to get hold of but thank god I finally did! The shade I've been wearing the most is In With Coral which is a bright shade with a creamy long lasting consistency that dries matte. There are a number of other colours so if coral isn't your thing there's bound to be be something that is.

I've been using this weekly treatment for a while now and although my skin is going through a horrendous spell at the minute when I've used this and washed it off my skin is so soft and even though I've not found it to help with the blemishes it does brighten up my complexion.

I know cream blusher season is coming to a close but a Boots offer has only just brought this little beauty into my life so I can't let go just yet! This applies like a dream, I love the chubby stick type packaging and the brightening peachy shade, I could not recommend this more.

Another cheek product that I love to use when I'm having a dull skin day that can perk it right up! This product definitely lives up to the packaging that it comes in and the three shades in the stripes compliment each other beautifully.

I love these little things for when I'm having bad hair days to pop on with a messy bun or a half up half down hairstyle to detract from the greasy mess that lies underneath. They are so cute that I might have to get a little collection on the go!

Stila 20th Anniversary Cheek Duo in Creamsicle

Did I need a new blusher? No. Did I need a new Bronzer? No. Did I get sucked in by the too cute for words packaging? I think we all know the answer to that one.

Seriously though, I don't think Stila could have made nicer packaging if they tried, I just love it and it's perfect for a pastel and cutesy magpie like myself! This cheek duo is a limited edition product from the ice cream collection to celebrate their 20th anniversary and as well as there being another shade of this there are three different eye shadow trios to choose from (I also don't need any more eye shadow either but Mocha Chip is calling out to that magpie side of mine!) and they're all housed in the same gorgeous paper compacts. Creamsicle is half bronzer and half blusher which is ideal travelwise because you've got all of your cheek needs in one little palette. The bronzer side has got the most use from me as I've found it to be the perfect contour shade even though in the swatches it looks a bit glittery and golden this doesn't transpire onto the skin at all once blended. I use the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Contour Brush to sweep it over the hollows of my cheeks and give this moon face the illusion of cheek bones. The blusher side is a peach pink and this hasn't got as much love as I thought it would have, the colour is lovely but I did find it to get a bit patchy as the day wore on but I'll definitely persevere, maybe now Autumn is on the way oily summer skin will be a thing of the past and my makeup will have an easier time staying on my face!

You might not need a new blusher or bronzer but you do need this packaging on your dressing table and it's limited edition so get yours quick before they're gone!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Busher in Onamatopeacha

We might not have seen the sun for a good week or so but cream blushers are very much still a staple of my daily makeup regime and I'm not prepared to let go of them just yet so that's why I've picked up this new little beauty to play with.

There are three shades of Sexy Mother Blusher and Onamatopeacha is the one that I picked, the shade clue is in the name which is also a bit of a mouthful! I love the simple packaging and the lids correspond to the shade so if you've got more than one knocking about in your make up bag you can easily pick up the one that you'r after! They're in a chubby stick form and the product inside is a dome shape twist up pencil which is the perfect size for the apples of your cheeks. I honestly cannot say one bad thing about this, it's so creamy, pigmented and couldn't be easier to apply, I usually pop it on straight from the tube so there's no messy fingers and then blend it out with a stippling brush. I can't complain about the lasting time either and it leaves a lovely healthy glow.

Soap & Glory are on buy one get one half price right now so you've got no excuse not to pick one of these up and quick!
