Midweek Wish List #27

1. Ever since I saw this on Lily Pebbles Instagram claiming that it's a god send for hormonal breakouts it's been at the top of my wish list. My skin has been having a bit of a breakdown for the past few months and it always seems to be at the same time of the month so at this point I am willing to try anything and £27 is a small price to pay for something so raved about that will bring my skin back to life!

2. I've finally upgraded from my trusty iPhone 4 to a 5s and the phone case opportunities are endless! Sharks are my favourites animals in the world and even though this phone case isn't the most practical thing I just love it, who doesn't want to pull a little shark out of their pocket when their phone rings?!

3. Blame Kim Kardashian but I'm having a complete love affair with pointy heels at the minute even though they are something that this time last year I would vow never to put on my feet! I would probably never have considered  white heels before but after seeing a near identical pair on Kimmy K with her grey jeans, grey t shirt and leather jacket I feel a need for a pair in my shoedrobe!

4. I didn't really but into the hype with many (if any) MAC collections last year but having a look at the collection calendar for 2015 this is definitely set to change! The two coming up in the next few weeks that I'll be refreshing the page to get in my basket is the Miley Cyrus Viva Glam lipstick in the most gorgeous hot fuscia and another limited edition peachy matte dream of a lipstick.

5. It's rose gold and will help me on my quest for supermodel sharp cheekbones, what's not to love?!

What I Got For Christmas 2014

So today is not only the day that I start my detox it's also the day that I get my blog on and back into the blogging world after a little bit of a Christmas break! I've finally got round to rounding up everything I got for Christmas for my favourite kind of post at this time of year, better late than never right?! I know opinions are split on these kind of posts but personally I love them so here is mine for the nosy buggers like me out there!

No Christmas would be complete without something cosy to wear and I must have looked like I needed some rabbit slippers in my life ending up with two pairs that are equally as cute! I also got the glitteriest boots in the world and Joel got me the Kardashian t shirt that I'd shown him ages ago on Missguided (and to think I thought he never listened to me!) and it has to be the most flatteringly cut t shirt I've ever owned, I just love it for when I'm having a casual day.

I've seen this book popping up on a lot of Instagram feeds over Christmas so I'm guessing that Santa popped this under a few other bloggers trees as well, I've dipped into it a couple of times when I've had chance and have already picked up some really good tips so I would definitely recommend a read if you haven't already and a related present was a bookmark from Joel who is fed up of someone who reads so much having to find a receipt every time they put their book down! I haven't been able to stop listening to Taylor Swift's album since I got it either, my new favourite song ever, ever, ever is Style (sorry Katy Perry, you're still my queen!!)

I can honestly say that I have never smelt so good!! I've got so much pamper material right now and even if I had two baths a day for the rest of the year I don't think I'll get through all of this little lot in time for next Christmas and of course I need my fix of Snow Fairy which my lovely sister made sure I got with this adorable little box of heaven, I loved it so much that I actually bought another one in the sale!

If I've got the most exfoliated, moisturized body in the world my face and hair can't be left out now can it?! I've heard some really good things about Espa but have never tried it before Joel's mum got me a couple of sets for Christmas and I am a convert, this is a facial set and my skin was literally so healthy looking and glowing pretty much straight after I'd finished applying it all. I've also been using the Clinique set daily since I got it and my skin has really cleared up after just a couple of weeks, I've actually seen this in a couple of sales recently so it's definitely worth checking out.

Last but not least are the make up goodies that I got and I think that I'm pretty much sorted from lips to tips with this lot! The Anastasia Beverly Hills and Charlotte Tilbury bits are things that have been on my wish list for months now and I'm so happy to be able to tick them off and get them on my face! The only way that I can describe the two NARS sets are that they are a gift from the makeup gods, one is for cheeks and they other for lips with the perfect combination of colours, I don't think I'm going to need to buy any new lip or cheek products for the rest of the year (yeah right, who am I kidding?!) because these seriously cover all basis.

I must have been very good in 2014 because I have been a very lucky girl this Christmas and love everything that I received, I can't wait for a major pamper sesh and play with my new pretties! If you've done a what I got for Christmas post recently please link me below because I love these posts!

MAC Sweet & Sour Lipstick

Mac Sweet & Sour Lipstick

Cast your mind back to way back when MAC released the All About Orange collection last year (my all time favourite collection EVER!) and the drool worthy lipsticks that were part of it - Sweet & Sour was the lipstick that I left behind, the one that got away and it was only when it was sold out that I released I could not rest until it was in my life! I couldn't have been the only person feeling this way as MAC re-released Sweet & Sour along with a handful of the other most requested lipsticks and I don't think I've ever typed my card details in so fast!

Sweet & Sour is the most gorgeous milky coral shade that brightens up your whole face and for saying that I'm a peach and coral lipstick fiend I can't say that I've got anything similar to this already. This is a cremesheen formula and I've seen a lot of people saying that they're not keen on the finish but Cremesheen are my go to for work and this is no exception, it's creamy, applies well and the wear time might not exceed more than an hour or so but it's so low maintenance and easy to apply (I'm talking mirror free!) it really doesn't bother me. I tend to pat this onto my lips instead of swiping it because I did find if your lips aren't in tip top condition it can gather in the creases and look a bit messy. 

I haven't worn this half as much as I'd have liked too because it popped through my letterbox literally 10 minutes before we were getting picked up to go to the airport so I quickly swapped lipsticks and fell in love with it but when I got back and had a tan it looked awful, almost like concealer lips. My tan has definitely faded now and I lived in it the other week but as soon as I fake tan again I just don't get on with it so it's been reserved to my pale days!

Sweet & Sour is now part of the permanent range of MAC lipsticks so if you missed out the first time and it gave you sleepless nights as well you've been given a second chance to get your hands on it!

Empties #4

Every time I've finished something up I've just been shoving it in the bottom drawer of my bedside table and I didn't quite realise how much I'd actually collected up until I emptied it all out so here is my well overdue empties post and I've finally got my bottom drawer back!

Hair

Elnett Heat Styling Spray 

I don't quite know why I haven't repurchased this because I really enjoyed using it, it's a heat protection spray with volumising qualities that are meant to last for three days and it really did work, my hair was so much more voluminous after I'd dried it.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray

I am currently waiting for a new one of these to arrive because I can't live without it in the summer! This is the best salt spray that I've ever used, I spray it on damp hair and then let it dry naturally, giving it a bit of a scrunch to encourage waves and it leaves such a lovely undone beachy look. 

L'oreal Paris Studio Line Texturising Spray

This can get quite sticky so it's best to use for updo's because if you wear your hair down it tends to look a bit greasy and feel matted up. I did really like this but it would be better if it was a little bit lighter like the Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Spray.

Ojon Instant Restorative Hair Serum

I really wanted to like this but I didn't, it smelt awful and It was really heavy on my hair and I found it to tangle my hair up and make it a nightmare to brush.

Aussie Three Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner

You can't get anymore convenient than three minutes on and then silky soft hair! This was lovely to use and left my hair in a brushable state which is a miracle.

Bumble & Bumble Thickening Hairspray

I can see why this is so popular, it made my hair look visibly fuller without making it crusty or greasy looking.

Skincare

Origins Never A Dull Moment Face Polish

This is a really gentle exfoliater that I probably didn't use as consistently as I should have but whenever I did use it my face felt clean and soft.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

I think there's been one of these in every empties post that I've done and it needs no explanation! It is a holy grail product like everyone says and there's no doubt I'll be getting a new one at some point.

Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion

I took this on holiday with me because the sun really dries out my skin and the last thing I want is a peeling nose! It kept me moisturized and I don't think I got one patch of flakiness or even a tight face when I'd been out sunbathing.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil

I got this when I'd had a really bad breakout on my chin and I couldn't shift the red marks that were left and this really, really helped clear it all up. I'd definitely buy it again if I needed some marks fading and apparently it's good for stretchmarks as well.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess

I LOVE THIS PERFUME!!!!! I'm on my second bottle of this and I will rebuy it every Summer that it carries on being released. It's coconutty perfection and I live in it!

The Body Shop Camomile Eye Make up Remover

I love black eyeliner and lashings of mascara so I need all the help I can get removing it at the end of the day. This is so gentle and really does the job, I've just bought another one as well so it must be good!

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spray

I completely forgot about this (that's how long these empties have been collecting up) and I had good intentions to repurchase but never got round to it and now how much I enjoyed using this is all flooding back! It's perfect for this weather because it's so refreshing and left a lovely glow.

Lush Snow Fairy

Do I even need to elaborate on this?! This Christmas I'm going to be stocking up on these bad boys, it's my favourite Lush time of year!

Origins Ginzing Moisturizer

Hands down the best day moisturizer that I've used in a long, long time and I really need to get a new one of these because I really miss using it and it should have lasted longer but a certain boy took a liking to it...

Face

Benefit The Porefessional Primer

This served me well on holiday and kept my makeup in place in the heat and I also found that it is quite matte so saved me from being an oily mess! I wouldn't repurchase this full size as there are primers you can get in Boots that are just as good but it was nice to revisit!

Topshop Glow in Polish

I cannot rave about this enough, it's my holy grail highlighter and I've repurchased this as well as back ups because it has the habit of disappearing for months at a time and I can't be without it, my glowing face relies on this little pot of magic!

NARS Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc

Another one of my holy grail face products that I always repurchase and have even got another shade for when I'm looking a bit less pale which I've never done before! It's the perfect coverage for me and I love the radiant finish.

Maybelline Concealer

It's such a shame that this exploded because I was loving the fomula, coverage and spongey applicator but the twist to dispense product has put me off buying it again because it wasted no end of product and was really messy.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Serum Foundation

I didn't even realize I had two types of this until I had them side by side to take the pictures! This is my favourite drug store foundation and the most similar to NARS sheer glow with a lovely finish and medium coverage and if I'm short on pennies and NARS is out of reach that month this is always what I'd go for.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder

This is a nice natural powder that is really light and not cakey at all, I would definitely reccomend this if you're in the market for something new.

YSL Touche Eclat

I really do love this but it doesn't last very long so I can only get them on special occasions because of the price but it really is the daddy of all clicky pen highlighters and can hide a night of partying no problem!

Eyes

Benefit Fake Up Concealer

This isn't for your eyes but it somehow managed to sneak in with all the eye products! This is a brilliant product and it is as moisturizing as it makes out and more I found when it used to transfer my bottom lash mascara all under my eyes but a bit of setting powder soon sorted that out and it's just the price that puts me off again as there are so many drugstore brands that do under eye concealers just as good and half the price.

L'Oreal Falsh Lash Telescopic, Million Lashes & Miss Manga Mascaras

L'Oreal is my brand of choice when it comes to my eyelashes and I've tried every high end brand going for a mascara that I deem worthy and none of them come close to how thick, long and fluttery my lashes are especially with Million Lashes. Miss Manga I wasn't so keen on and it only really took to my bottom lashes so I wouldn't bother with that again but the others are a welcome addition to my makeup bag!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner

This would be my liquid liner of choice if it didn't dry up so quickly. It stays put and stays dark when it's new but I've found that even a week after starting to use it it's going grey and is hard to apply. I don't know if it's because I've been using the mini version but I just wish it lasted longer.

L'Oreal Superliner

Now this is my liner of choice, can't you tell?! It lasts forever and is still as black as the first time that you used it, the tip is the perfect shape for getting a good flick on the go and it lasts all day or night long.

ELF Eyeshadow Primer

If you want crease free, long lasting eyeshadow and still get change from a fiver then this is what you're after. Because of the price I didn't have the highest of hopes despite reading some rave reviews but I was wrong and it is as good as everyone says!

What's in My Holiday Make Up Bag?

I love warm weather but my make up doesn't seem to feel the same way and ends up sliding down my face so when I'm off on my jollies I try and keep my face as simple and stripped back as I can which is a good job seeing as my make up collection could fill my whole suitcase and I've only got a 15kg limit to stick too!

I usually go for an illuminating primer but in a hot country I don't need any more shine to my face so I'm taking a tiny Porefessional which when applied is pretty matte and gives a nice smooth base to keep my make up in place which is what I need! I'd have to be having a very good skin day to just go out in tinted moisturizer in this country but when you're on holiday the lighter base the better. The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer has pretty good coverage considering with a really nice luminous finish and also because it's not too heavy and full on when you've got a bit of colour to your face it isn't going to look stupid because it's sheer enough to not look a completely different colour. I've also got a healthy mix concealer for those bits that need some more help which I haven't used yet but I love the foundation so I've got high hopes and something else that is untouched in my holiday pile is the Bourjois bronzing primer that I've got as a contouring product and depending how dark I get I may use it as a base. I've gone for a powder highlighter because it seems to stay put better than any cream products I've tried and the Mary-Loumanizer is the perfect golden shade to compliment sun kissed skin. I've got a selection of blushers, two being the Daniel Sandler Watercolour blushers in a bright orange and bright pink, these give more of a natural flush and once they're on they ain't budging and I couldn't leave behind my ever faithful MAC Royal Sunset which is perfect for a softer look and more peachy cheeks.

My MAC palette is a nice multitasker to save a bit of room and it's got all my neutral eyeshadow as well as brow needs covered and my seemingly ever lasting teeny tiny Stay Don't Stray will be keeping that all in place. I could be in the burning depths of hell and you still wouldn't be able to tear me away from my eyeliner, I've got my beloved L'oreal Super Liner and also a mini pencil liner to fill in any of those pesky gaps between my eyelashes but I have faith in my Super Liner, if it can stay put during a messy night out it can withstand the heat in Turkey! Another small Benefit product (Thank you Birchbox!) is the They're Real Mascara to give me some luscious holiday lashes and then to finish it all off the choice of a few MAC lippies, I've got 2 neon shades packed (Morange and Candy Yum Yum) which I think look amazing with a tan and then a more toned down shade (Coral Bliss) but a couple more may just sneak their way in to my make up bag - a week is a long time with only 3 lipsticks to your name!!

And there you have my holiday make up bag, I just need to get there and put this all into action now!

MAC 190 Foundation Brush

MAC 190 Foundation Brush

I went into mourning when my Real Techniques foundation brush was shedding too much it was no longer usable without making me look like I had a beard but it just so happened to coincide with a Debenhams beauty club offer so out of mourning I came and my MAC make up brush cherry was officially popped!

Firstly I love how sleek this brush looks with the smooth black handle which is longer than any other brushes I've got which is really comfortable to hold and you've got good control, is this anything to do with the length of the handle? I have no idea but I like it anyway! The brush itself is synthetic and so soft, it's quite flat and the tapered end makes it really easy to get around those tricky parts of your face like your nose and your eyes. The 190 applies your foundation evenly and smoothly with minimal brush marks, I still use my Real Techniques Stippling brush to blend with but if I didn't have that to hand this would do just fine on its own. I've been using this brush since December now and now one hair has shed from it's precious little head and it's been washed numerous times and is still as good as new. I admit it's a little bit pricey for a foundation brush but you're definitely paying for quality.

Midweek Wish List #23

1. I've been meaning to try GlamGlow for ages but the price keeps putting me off, I know a lot of people swear by it and their glowing complexions have this to thank but I'm going to wait for a full report from one of my friends who have just invested and if she looks radiant then I might just splash the cash!

2. I got a rather generous sample of this in a Birchbox a few months ago and it really does live up to the hype, I've never really gone for the whole tinted moisturizer thing and the thought of leaving the house without full coverage sends shivers down my spine but I love this, the coverage isn't bad at all, it highlights all the right places and doesn't tinted moisturizer just scream holiday to you?!

3. It's been raining a lot, I love stripes and I want to stay dry - do I need any more reasons for this coat to be necessity in my life?

4. I know these have been in Toshop for a while now and I've completely ignored them until I saw a picture of someone wearing this to tie up a messy bun and it looked so cute so now I need one in every pattern and colour!

6. When I went to see Katy Perry (I swear I'll stop talking about this one day) her eyes were lined with glitter underneath which looked amazing and Chanel have done it with sequins so if it's good enough for them then I want in on the action. I love that pro products are now available on the MAC website and these 3D glitters have just launched which are a perfect way to get the look.

FOTD

Last night I dug out my cat ears and spent the night in the company of my ultimate girl crush Miss Katy Perry herself! I had literally been counting down the days since I got the tickets for Christmas and despite having to wait outside in the rain for ages because of some technical difficulties she was definitely worth the wait, if you're going to see her then you're in for a treat because she is absolutely AMAZING. I've never done a face of the day post before but my outfit picture didn't turn out very well so ta da! I wanted to be prepared just in case she whisked me on a night out around Nottingham so slapped on my full face of going out make up which is very similar to my day make up just with glowier skin, more eye make up and lashes (well, if it ain't broke don't fix it!) I started with my two glowy base staples which are MAC Strobe Cream as a primer and NARS Sheer Glow (I wear the shade mont blanc) thankfully after a bit of a wobble at the start of the year my skin has sorted itself out now so after a bit of concealing, contouring and highlighting that's me done basewise. I can't get enough of peachy cheeks especially at this time of year, it gives a really fresh look, I've been using MAC Royal Sunset a lot recently which is unfortunately limited edition and I got it from the All About Orange collection (my favourite MAC collection ever, I wish they'd do part two!) I always stick with neutrals for my eyes which is where my MAC quad comes in, I used Espresso to fill in my brows and Shroom on the inner corner of my eyes with All that Glitters towards the outside and bringing it underneath a bit, I've also rediscovered the E.l.f mineral eyeshadow in Natural which is a perfect highlight for the inner corner of your eye. A flick of black eyeliner, my trusty Eylure lashes - it would have been rude not to wear Katy Perry for the occasion - and my new favourite lip product which is the Illamasqua Matte lip liquid in Surrender and I was ready to dance the night away!

Monthly Favourites | April 2014

Another month bites the dust! I've got quite a few new bits this month that I've been trying out and subsequently falling in love with so my favourites are made up of new arrivals that have snuck their way into my make up collection.

Models Own Polish for Tans in Beach Bag and Shades (Full review here)

These two shades have literally not been off my nails since I bought them, they're officially my favourite nail varnishes in the world ever and even that doesn't express how much I love them! They're the brightest pastels I've ever seen and they look absolutely amazing on and add the perfect finishing touch to any outfit.

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer (Post here)

Now the sun has started shining a little bit I'm tanning it up a bit more and this is the perfect highlighter for bronzed skin. It's a gorgeous golden shade with a bit of a shimmer to it, I can definitely see this becoming my go to summer highlighter.

Loreal #TXT Volume Supersizing Spray

I love the Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finishing spray but at £21.50 I needed a cheaper alternative for the months that I don't have Boots points burning a hole in my purse! I've seen so many good things said about this spray and when compared to the Bumble and Bumble spray it's even come out as better in some instances and it really is good. It's a bit heavier and sticker than my beloved dryspun spray so it's maybe better for an updo because it can make your hair look a little bit greasy but for a beehive or a root uplift this is your spray!

MAC Blushers in Modern Mandarin and Lovecloud (Full review here)

My other blushers haven't got a look in since I got these for my birthday, they're the perfect spring shades and go on really well leaving a natural flushed look with a bit of a sheen as they're Satin finish so it adds a bit of highlight to your cheeks - you've got to love a multitasker!

Benefit Stay Don't Stray

How cute is this teeny tiny sample?! It gets lost every morning because it's so small but it's worth searching for! I thought that this was simply an eyeshadow primer when I got the sample in my Birchbox but it's also for your concealer which is amazing, it gives a really smooth base and I've had no creases which is a miracle when you come home after a full day at work and your eyeshadow looks like it did when you left the house.

Caudalie Beauty Elixer

I've never bought into the hype of this before but when I had some Birchbox points that needed using up I gave in and this has become a handbag staple ever since. I have definitely been missing out with this little gem, it's a really delicate spray with a cooling and calming effect and also instantly gives you a glow. I just can't explain it, after one spray you look radiant and healthy with perfect glowing skin. I really hope the novelty doesn't wear off because I am loving what this is doing to my face!

Midweek Wish List #22

1. I got a tiny little sample of Strobe Cream with a MAC order I placed and have fallen in love with it! I've been using it as a primer and it gives the perfect radiant base. You can also mix it with foundation for that glow from within kind of look or simply use it as a highlighter.

2. The Illamasqua Summer collection looks absolutely amazing, I dread to think the damage that is going to be done to my bank account. The collection was launched today and I've got my eye on a velvet blusher to add to my ever growing Illamasqua blusher collection (they do them so well!) and all of the new matte lip liquid shades but I might have to limit myself!

3. As if this wish list didn't have enough lip and cheek products on it here's one more! YSL have brought out a product that's made to be used both on your lips and cheeks and the shade range is amazing. With these multi use products and especially the ones that are made for cheeks I usually only tend to use it on my cheeks but because this has a doe foot applicator I think I'd be more inclined to shove it in my bag as a lip product which means I have no excuse to not get one as price per wear has just halved!

4. For my Birthday I went to Selfridges in Birmingham wanting to come home with a beautiful new purse because mine is years old and getting a bit tatty looking, I looked high and low and with the exception of falling in love with a Mulberry purse that was far too expensive I couldn't find anything and then I stumbled across this little beauty when I'd stopped looking for a purse - sods law isn't it?! I love stripes, I especially love blue stripes and I love gold hardware so this is just perfect!

MAC Tres Cheek Collection | Modern Mandarin & Lovecloud

MAC Tres Cheek Collection, £17.50 each

I don't know why but as soon as Spring has sprung and the sun stops hiding I go absolutely cheek mental, highlighter, cream blusher, powder blusher, bronzer, you name it and if it goes on or around my cheek area I'm going to be buying it so this collection couldn't have come at a better time for me! 

Tres Cheek was a Limited Edition collection of 6 blushers from a couple of years ago and four of the shades are coming back for good - don't you just love it when MAC bring back shades as permanents?! All the fun without the stalking and going out of stock anxiety (Riri Woo, I'm looking at you!). Joel bought me these two for my Birthday after he got fed up of me staring at them wistfully and taking them in and out of my basket and they are both so perfect for the (hopefully) upcoming sunny months. Lovecloud is a beautiful pink which seems to have a tiny hint of peach in there which is probably why I love it so much, this really is the perfect shade for spring and paler skin tones. Modern Mandarin is described as 'red orange' which scared me a little and clown like make up came to mind but it is honestly such a gorgeous colour and when applied lightly it gives you a lovely healthy looking flush and I can imagine it to look even better when I'm a bit darker in the Summer.

Out of the two Modern Mandarin is the most pigmented so you have to start lightly with that one and Lovecloud takes a bit of building up but that's the beauty of them, they're both extremely buildable so you can have as little or as much colour as you like. They're both satin finishes and out of the other couple of Mac blushes I have of the same finish these are the most frosted looking and have more of a noticeable sheen on your cheeks which isn't a bad thing, the more help towards the perfect glowing complexion the better!

So that's my cheeks sorted for the forseeable future and if you like what you see then these are now permanent shades so you don't have to panic buy, these little lovelies will be around for a while yet!

Birthday Wishlist!

It happens to be my Birthday on Saturday and down to my impatience I couldn't wait to buy my Michael Kors bag (thank you bonus!) after telling everyone that's what my heart desired on my 23rd so I'm now going to have a Birthday blow out in Birmingham! Usually when I've got it and want to spend some money I can't find anything to spend it on so I'm well prepared for this shopping trip with a very long wishlist to make sure that when I'm done I'm poor in pounds but rich in make up!

The second I saw the Models Own polish for tans it was love at first swatch and these are right up my street, They're neon but at the same time still quite pastel looking shades, I'm sure I can find room for five new nail varnishes somewhere! I've been searching high and low for a jacket that will see me through to autumn and then two beauties turn up at once which is typical! I literally live in my denim jacket as soon as the sun comes out and the one I've got at the minute has seen better days and this is the first one I've seen that I've loved and I know I'll wear it to death although it might get neglected if this gorgeous pink coat makes it home with me, It's one of those things that I've already planned into outfits in my head (a stripy shift dress and bare legs with Topshop heart print loafers or my ever faithful black skinny jeans and nude heels) Why do you have to keep churning out these beautiful jackets faster than I'm getting paid Zara?! Another couple of new releases that I need on my face and fingers are the NARS matte multiple which is a multipurpose product and there are so many shades that I feel spoilt for choice and the new Nails inc floral polishes that I dismissed until I saw it on Alexa Chung's nails and it looked amazing. Finally I'm trying to save some money for when the MAC Playland collection comes out because I can't resist bright colours, especially in the summer and the whole collection is so bright and fun and who am I to deny myself some fun in my make up collection?!

Monthly Favourites | March 2014

I can't believe that April is here already and I am a week away from being another year older, where has being 22 gone?! I didn't really buy much make up in March so my favourites are made up of slow burners that I've needed to use for a while for me to fall in love with them and a rediscovered love. I've been a really rubbish blogger recently so I'm making a new month resolution to up my game and start posting a bit more so I suppose I'm just going to have to buy some new bits so I don't run out of thing to post about...

Xen-Tan Dark Lotion Weekly Self Tan

Stop the press, I think I may have found my holy grail tan! This stuff is perfection, from the delicious sweet smell to the natural sunkissed colour, I don't have one complaint. Initially the 'dark lotion' made me a bit nervous but don't let it put you off because you get as much colour as you want depending on how much you apply, I started lightly and it turned me a lovely bronzed colour and then I got braver and layered it up for a deeper olive tan (I'd been watching the Kardashians and a light tan just wouldn't do!) I've not been battling with streakiness and it fades seamlessly although it's a bit pricier than I'd like the bottle is huge and should last a good while!

MAC Candy Yum Yum

I bought Candy Yum Yum about a year ago now after months of waiting for it to become permanent and not being able to live without it in my life and then when I got it I wore it once and didn't touch it again until the past month or so when it has definitely got my full and undivided attention! This is the perfect in your face, neon Barbie pink for your lips and it's matte which makes me like it even more! I love wearing this with simple eye make up and it seems to really brighten up my whole face.

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner

This has been my skin savior! For the first time in years I've really been suffering with breakouts around my chin and even when the offending blemish was long gone I was left with a scab or a scar because of my notorious picking ways and since I've been using this a couple of times a week I haven't had one breakout and the marks have completely disappeared.  My skin has honestly never looked so good after a really bad skin year so far so there's no way I'm going to be cutting this out of my routine any time soon.

Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow

I've heard so many amazing things about Hollow and bought this as a contouring product imparticular. This is the perfect shade for pale skin, it's a really natural colour but makes such a difference at the same time. It goes on smoothly and blends perfectly - it's all I've been using to contour recently and I can't see that changing!

Topshop Nails in Disclosed

This is just screaming spring to me, it's a beautiful duck egg blue which I find that sometimes shades like this can be a bit hit or miss and come across more white and stark than they are but this is really, really nice and the perfect amount of blue - there's not a hint of tip ex fingers in sight!
